Las Cruces New Mexico

We have been to Las Cruces many times in the past, and we thought that we had sufficiently checked out the area. But when I did a little bit of deeper research, I located a few gems we either weren’t aware of in the past, or just missed. So, we decided to check them out in our brief stay along I-10.  BTW, it’s back to being winter time here again!

New Mexico’s Whispering Giant by Peter Wolf Toth happens to be in Apodaca Park in Las Cruces. The 47^th native carving in Toth’s mission of placing a Giant in all 50 states of the Union, it turned out to be our 11^th in our mission to see as many of them as we can manage. While 11 didn’t seem like a huge accomplishment at first, when I realized that means we now had seen 20% of these amazing carvings, including the only one in Canada, it seemed a bit more impressive.
